It was great to have so many people at the tasting again this year. The varietal focus area proved very popular with the opportunity to taste wines from the same grape variety but different, countries, producers and terroirs back to back generating much discussion and debate. The ‘bin end’ table also proved very popular!
We all enjoyed a four course meal with the opportunity to try two different wines with each course both before the food and then again with the food. This generated much debate as the palate changed once accompanied by the food and the vote swung in different directions – some times more dramatically then others!
A lovely evening was had by all and a huge thank you for all the nice comments and notes that we have received following this event I think it is safe to say it was a success and as a result we will look to organise a similar event in the spring.
