Welcome to Wines of Quality, the company was founded in 1993 with the aim to provide quality wine at a reasonable price. This is still the company’s philosophy today. All of our wines are personally selected based on their quality and value.
Wines of Quality purchase our European wines direct from the cellar door and have a longstanding personal relationship with many of the growers. By buying direct from the grower and selling direct to the customer we are able to ensure that the producer receives a fair price and you the customer receive good value.
Our criteria for a wine to be selected are simple:-
We look for small and ideally family run vineyards, typically less than 20,000 hectares, producing traditionally crafted wines. The wines must be an excellent example of type and the producer show consistency of production through vintages – you don’t want to fall in love with a wine only to be disappointed by a subsequent year now do you? The wines must also represent value for money and their limited production means they are not widely available within the UK, in fact with many of our wines we are the sole UK importer.
Once we have established that a producer may be of interest we then get down to the serious business of tasting the wines, we look for good initial appeal in the colour of the wine and an appetising nose again these must be true to type. Most importantly the wine must drink well!
It is also important to us that the producer is interested in forming a long standing relationship not just be trying to off load excess stock. Once these criteria have been met then a wine can be added to our list.
Wines from outside Europe are still subject to the same approval process for quality and value though the relationship is slightly more 'distant' and less exclusive.

Every effort is made to ensure the wines selected are of the highest quality and reach you in perfect condition, however, should you ever be dissatisfied with any of our wines we will happily swap it out or refund you the value.
Our minimum order quantity for personal delivery is twelve bottles, which can be of a single wine, one of our carefully selected mixed cases, or your own selection. Smaller quantities can be ordered for delivery via courier (see delivery charges section) and again can be a selection of your choice.
